Announcements

Dear Lions Club Officer,

The annual meeting for the installation of club officers is a long-time Lions club tradition, usually held as the first meeting of the new fiscal year. It is a celebratory event that is an opportune time for a club to express gratitude, honorably transfer authority and responsibility, recognize club members and celebrate the club’s service! You may also use this occasion to acknowledge community members and recognize long-time members. To further assist you, download your copy of the Club Officer Installation Ceremony guide today. This guide also provides helpful tips in the areas of:

  • Officiator of the Installation Ceremony
  • Seating for a Formal Installation
  • Scripts for Installation of Directors and Officers
  • Logistics
  • Promotions
  • Formal Set Up
  • And much more

Help the newly elected officers prepare for next year by reviewing the Club Excellence Award (2024-2025 applications will be available July 1), Club Quality Initiative and MISSION 1.5. Each of these programs are a tool for a road map to success and to help clubs achieve excellence.

In addition, it’s never too early to start planning for next year. Be sure your incoming club president, secretary and treasurer are aware of the training courses available for their roles in the Lions Learning Center (LLC).

Encourage Lion and Leo members in your club to apply for the 2024-2025 Lions International Institutes available for your constitutional area. To see when your area’s institute is being held, visit the Lions International calendar today.

Looking for ways to recognize your members’ achievements? Visit the Lions Shop for awards, certificates and much more to help make your Installation Ceremony one to remember.

Take the time to explore the new Lions Heritage Collection in the Lions Shop. Our newest collection features timeless styles that stand out no matter where or how you serve. View this new collection now.

Your District and Club Administration Division Team

Dear Lion Leader,

We are writing to share an important update on our international convention in Atlanta. We have been informed that the City of Atlanta has cancelled its commitment to host the 2026 Lions International Convention due to the schedule for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will host eight games in the city at the same time.

We are incredibly disappointed that we will be unable to host the Lion event of the year in one of the most dynamic cities in the world.

Due to this unfortunate decision, work has begun to identify a suitable host city for 2026, and the Convention Committee will take up the topic during upcoming meetings in Melbourne, Australia. At this point, there is no plan to reschedule convention in Atlanta, but the committee will look to evaluate the host city for a future event.

The executive officers would like to thank the Atlanta Host Committee for their efforts and the work already in progress.

We are saddened to report this news today. However, we are fully committed to identifying a new host city with the same world-class amenities and character as Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.

Yours in service,

Dr. Patti Hill

International President

J. Frank Moore III
Convention Committee Chairperson
